What sells
- Furniture
- Dining sets, bedroom sets, case goods, mid-century, oak and walnut, outdoor furniture.
- Tools and workshop
- Hand and power tools, machinery, benches, hardware, garden equipment.
- Jewelry and watches
- Fine and costume jewelry. Valuable pieces are reviewed by a specialist before listing.
- Coins, currency and bullion
- Weighed, graded and listed individually where it is worth doing.
- Art, prints and frames
- Signed work is researched. Decorative work is sold as decorative work.
- China, glass and silver
- Full services, crystal, sterling and plate. Sterling is weighed.
- Collections
- Stamps, records, models, militaria, sports, toys, books.
- Rugs, textiles and linens
- Hand-knotted rugs are identified and measured properly.
- Appliances and electronics
- Working, recent, and clean.
- Vehicles, trailers and boats
- Titled and sold separately.
What we don’t sell
- Anything you are keeping
- Tagged or removed before we start.
- Personal papers and photographs
- Set aside for the family.
- Mattresses, most upholstery, and open food
- No resale value and often not legal to resell. Removed with the cleanout.
- Hazardous material
- Paint, solvents, propane, chemicals, asbestos. Disposed of properly and charged at cost.
- Firearms
- Handled under a licensed dealer, with the paperwork, or returned to the family. Never listed on a general auction.
What happens to what is left
Whatever does not sell is yours to decide on, and we agree it before the auction rather than on the day: donated to a charity that collects and gives you the receipt, offered to a secondary auction, recycled, or removed. The house is swept and photographed empty at the end.
